Frequently Asked Questions

Is DonNote free?
Yes. DonNote is free to download with all core features included: transaction logging, asset management, statistics, and iCloud sync. To remove ads and support the developer, you can subscribe to Premium.
How much is the Premium subscription?
Premium is available at ₩2,500 / month or ₩20,000 / year (≈ ₩1,667/month, 33% off). Subscribing removes all ads across the app.
Can I use the app across multiple devices?
Yes. Transactions, assets, and categories sync automatically across iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple ID via iCloud. No separate sign-up required.
How do I record credit card installments?
Select a credit card as the payment method on the transaction screen, then choose installment months (2–24) and annual interest rate. Per-installment transactions are automatically generated monthly, using equal-principal repayment with interest on remaining balance.
How do I log loan principal repayment?
Use a transfer transaction. Select your bank account as the "from" asset and the loan as the "to" asset. The loan balance decreases as you repay the principal.
How are asset balances calculated?
Balances update automatically when you log transactions. Expenses decrease the asset's balance; income increases it. Transfers decrease the source and increase the destination. Edits and deletes adjust balances accordingly.
Can I export my data?
Yes. From Settings, you can export transactions to Excel-compatible CSV, or back up all data as JSON. JSON backups can be restored within the app.
Can I lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID?
Yes. Enable biometric lock under Settings → Security. The app locks when sent to background, and sensitive information is hidden until unlocked.
Can I customize categories?
Yes. Add, edit, delete, and reorder categories from Settings → Category Management. Choose your own emojis and colors. You can also create new categories instantly from the transaction screen.
Does it support foreign currencies?
Yes. Assets can be set to USD, JPY, and other currencies. Exchange rates are fetched automatically for KRW conversion display. The rate at the time of each transaction is snapshotted, so historical KRW values stay accurate.

Statistics, balance calculations, currency conversions, and installment interest calculations are based on user input and are provided for reference only. Accuracy is not guaranteed. Always consult qualified professionals before making significant financial decisions.

Subscription

DonNote offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (DonNote Premium) that provides additional benefits such as ad removal. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

  • Available at ₩2,500 / month or ₩20,000 / year.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

Advertisements

Free users will see ads from Google AdMob on certain screens. All ads are removed for Premium subscribers.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

DonNote processes the following information that you enter:

  • Transaction details (amount, category, memo, date, etc.)
  • Asset information (name, type, balance, currency, etc.)
  • Categories and user preferences

We do not require account creation or collect personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number).

2. Where Data Is Stored

All data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account. The developer cannot access your data, and no separate server is maintained.

3. iCloud Sync

iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Data is stored only in the private database linked to your Apple ID and cannot be accessed by other users or the developer.

4. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are used for certain features:

  • Exchange Rate API: Used to fetch public exchange rate data for foreign currency conversion. No user data is transmitted.
  • Stock Price API: Used to fetch public stock price data for stock assets. No user data is transmitted.
  • Google AdMob: Used to display ads to free users. AdMob may use identifiers for ad personalization, controlled by iOS tracking permission settings. Premium subscribers see no ads, and these identifiers are not used.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete individual transactions and assets within the app, or remove all data via "Delete All Data" in Settings. Deleting the app removes data from your device, but iCloud-stored data must be separately deleted via iCloud settings.

6. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may change with app updates. Any changes will be posted on this page.
